Insurance Requirements

WE REQUIRE A CURRENT CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE NAMING BEARD LAND AND INVESTMENT CO., AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES (BEARD), AS ADDITIONAL NAMED INSURED BEFORE YOUR COMPANY CAN PERFORM WORK AND/OR OPERATE ON OUR PROPERTY OR ON OUR BEHALF. PLEASE HAVE YOUR INSURANCE BROKER PROVIDE THIS CERTIFICATE TO 530 11TH STREET MODESTO, CA 95354.

BEARD REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING INDICATED COVERAGES:

Comprehensive General Liability Insurance, covering liability, including but not limited to Public Liability, Personal Injury, and Property Damage, with coverage of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence and $6,000,000 in the aggregate.

If any work is to be performed within fifty (50) feet of a railroad track and affecting any railroad bridge or trestle, tracks, road beds, tunnel, underpass or crossing, you must provide Railroad Protective Liability Insurance naming Beard Land and Investment Co. as additional named insured with minimum limits for bodily injury and property damage of $5,000,000 per occurrence, $10,000,000 in the aggregate.

Comprehensive Automobile Liability Insurance with minimum Combined Single Limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence for Bodily Injury and Property Damage.

Worker’s Compensation coverage as is required by State law, but if optional under State law the insurance must cover all employees anyway. THE CERTIFICATE MUST CONTAIN A SPECIFIC WAIVER OF THE INSURANCE COMPANY’S SUBROGATION RIGHTS AGAINST BEARD; If the certificate does not contain such waiver, your company will have to provide a separate indemnity to Beard against all subrogation claims for injury or death to your Company’s employees regardless of the negligence of Beard.

In all cases, Beard must be designated as Additional Insured on the certificate, as respects the contract/project you are performing for us.  Any coverage afforded Beard, the Certificate Holder, as an Additional Insured shall apply as primary and not excess to any insurance issued in the name of Beard.

All insurance shall be placed with insurance companies licensed to do business in the states in which the work is to be performed, and with a current Best’s Insurance Guide Rating of A- and Class VIII, or better.

Modesto and Empire Traction Company and Beard Land Improvement Company are subsidiaries of Beard Land and Investment Co., therefore, your certificate will allow you to perform work for any of these companies.
