Developing a Rail-Served Facility

Want to develop direct rail access?  There are a few basic approaches available:

• Building or refurbishing a facility in an existing site or rail-served industrial park.
• Building a spur or siding at a new or existing site.

Modesto and Empire Traction Company has connections with two Class I railroads, BNSF Railway (BNSF) and Union Pacific (UP).  Our connection with the BNSF at Modesto-Empire Jct., California, is at our eastern-most location, while our connection with UP takes place within a few blocks of downtown Modesto.  We reach all of the rail network in the United States, Canada, and Mexico through our connections with BNSF and UP.  Additionally, Modesto and Empire Traction Company has available a 70 acre rail / truck transload facility encompassing 7,000 feet of unloading / loading tracks.  These tracks are surrounded by 52' to 78' concrete aprons.  The facility offers full security lighting and fencing, as well as a single location access with checkpoint office.
